Salient Federal Solutions Inc. has partnered with Stop Hunger Now to help respond to emergency needs worldwide, Salient announced today.
Stop Hunger Now’s chief operating officer, Shelton Mercer, said the organization responds to the “horrific situation” of more than 25,000 people dying from hunger and hunger-related illnesses every day.
Mercer added that the organization is “proud to have partnered with Salient and look forward to our collaboration in the coming months.”
Stop Hunger Now’s meal packaging program provides volunteers the opportunity to package dehydrated, high protein, and highly nutritious meals that are used in crisis situations and in school feeding programs for schools and orphanages in developing countries around the world.
Brad Antle, Salient president and CEO, said the company encourages its employees to “create value through actions they take every day.” He considered the program “not only a Salient event, but a family event, and an international event.”
Antle said it is “more than just donating money; it is an opportunity to actively participate in our community for a great cause.”
Stop Hunger Now is an international hunger relief organization which responds to emergency needs worldwide. It has mobilized 200,000 volunteers to package and deliver more than 71 million meals sent to more than 70 countries.
Salient is accepting donations for its “$10 feeds 40” campaign. Each $10 donation provides 40 meals. Meal packaging will be held on November 3 at its McLean, Va. office.
This campaign is part of Salient’s Making a Difference program that the company has established with local and national nonprofit organizations to help struggling communities.
