The Air Force Materiel Command has established an enterprise services site with the aim of standardizing acquisition of engineering and professional services across the command, the branch announced in an Oct. 11 FedBizOpps post.
According to the Air Force, the AFMC Enterprise Services site is intended to function as a single point for communications and facilitate industry participation.
The AFMC will use the site to implement multiple-award contract programs that aggregate requirements aligning to its five major mission areas, including life-cycle management, test, sustainment, nuclear and science and technology.
Small business treatment, contract type, contract term and simplified and uniform source selection process will be standardized at the basic contract and task order levels, the branch said.
The branch also intends for this initiative to utilize small business firms as prime contractors or members of joint ventures.
The initial strategic effort will be the Air Force Test Center’s enterprise program followed by services for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center and the Air Force Sustainment Center.
Earlier this month, the General Services Administration announced via FedBizOpps it would begin taking ideas from industry on potential redevelopment of a section of Federal Triangle in Washington.
