CSC Chooses ReadVerify Appliance for NOAA Supercomputer Contract; Tracey Wilson Comments

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has begun using Crossroad Systems Inc.‘s ReadVerify Appliance to monitor archived environmental data on tape.

In a release, Crossroad Systems Inc., said that CSC‘s North American Public Sector, the primary contractor for the project, has chosen the RVA to proactively validate the tape library systems of NOAA.

Tracey Wilson, CSC’s North American Public Sector product and system manager said the RVA will provide a consolidated view of all archive data and metrics of NOAA’s high performance computing environment.

The RVA will also provide real-time alerts and reporting about NOAA’s libraries, drives, and tapes.

CSC’s North American Public Sector was awarded the $317 million contract to provide NOAA with a supercomputer used for modeling weathering patterns.
