Dell to Provide AF CENTCOM Microsoft Licenses

Dell will provide Microsoft licenses to the Air Force under an $8,873,542 firm-fixed-price contract, the Defense Department announced Thursday.

The Pentagon said the licenses are intended for assets at the Air Force’s Central Command.

Work will occur in Southwest Asia through June 30, 2013 and Shaw Air Force Base, S.C. is the contracting activity.

Microsoft is a member of a team of contractors selected to provide enterprise information technology support services to the North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command, both based in Colorado.

Harris Corp. is leading the team, with Microsoft and SRA International as subcontractors.
