Engility to Provide IT, Network Engineering for NAVSEA Explosive Division; Tony Smeraglinolo Comments

Engility will provide information technology personnel and services to a Naval Sea Systems Command division responsible for developing procedures to counter munitions, the company announced Friday.

Under a potential three-year, $21 million contract, the company will provide the Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division network engineering and administration, along with help desk support.

The company will also develop and manage databases and provide the division software engineering.

President and CEO Tony Smeraglinolo said in a release Engility’s personnel will work with NAVEODTECHDIV as it supports warfighters in the field of explosive ordnance disposal.

Smeraglinolo added this award is part of the company’s goal to pursue business in the government services market.

The company is also working with the Army to simulate missions involving C4ISR (command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance).

The Indian Head, Md.-based NAVEODTECHDIV develops and provides equipment, publications and procedures for Joint-Service Explosive Ordnance Disposal forces operating around the world, including efforts to c0unter improvised explosive devices.
