Michael Hardesty serves as corporate vice president and chief accounting officer at Northrop Grumman.
Hardesty joined Northrop in 2004 and has held leadership positions at both corporate and sector levels. In his previous role as VP of internal audit, Hardesty was responsible to the audit committee of the board of directors and the Northrop Grumman CFO for establishing and maintaining an effective, centralized internal audit program.
He led audit teams across the company in providing an independent and objective evaluation of the design and operation of the company’s system of internal controls.
Before his audit role, Hardesty was the VP and CFO of the company’s enterprise shared services and information technology solutions organizations. He also led the ESS finance shared service organization. He started at Northrop Grumman as director of financial compliance and accounting research in the corporate office.
Before joining Northrop, Hardesty spent 10 years with Deloitte & Touche, attaining the level of audit senior manager.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Southern California and is a certified public accountant.
