Science Applications International Corp. will work with the Federal Emergency Management Agency to develop training for emergency responders, the company announced Monday.
The company won a $52 million contract, containing one base year and four one-year options, to provide training delivery services in support of FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness, which SAIC has been the prime contractor to for training and operations support since inception.
Responders use the training to manage emergencies, said JT Grumski, a senior vice president.
SAIC will provide the CDP course delivery; chemical, ordnance, biological and radiological training facility instruction; instructor selection, training, certification, and sustainment; equipment management and logistical support; and safety operations and management.
Sectors covered under the training include emergency management, emergency medical services, fire services, governmental administrative, hazardous materials, healthcare, law enforcement, public health, public safety communications and public works.
CACI International is competing to provide FEMA policy, software engineering and other operational support services focused on government continuity, according to President and CEO Dan Allen.
