The committee, formed 30 years ago, is composed of up to 30 industry senior executives representing several communications, information technology, finance and aerospace companies.
Panelists provide the president industry-based counsel on issues related to implementing national security and emergency preparedness communications policy.
“It is an honor to be named to the president’s advisory committee that is tasked with safeguarding the United States’ communications infrastructure,” Stratton said in a release.
Stratton, an 18-year company veteran, oversees global delivery of enterprise offerings in mobile, cloud computing, information technology and strategic networking to businesses and government agencies.
He previously served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Verizon Wireless, as well as chief marketing officer for both Verizon Wireless and Verizon Communications.
