Cisco Putting Cloud, Managed Service Programs Under One Roof; Arjun Lahiri Comments

Cisco is consolidating its cloud and managed service programs to work with solution providers in both sectors, Channelnomics reports.

Larry Walsh writes the new Cisco Cloud and Managed Services Program will put providers of applications, software-as-a-service cloud and managed services offerings under one umbrella.

Arjun Lahiri, senior manager for worldwide channels, told the website the goal of the move is to eliminate redundancy and confusion in the market.

Walsh writes the company will first aim to standardize its service platforms, software, and hardware at the same time.

IBM and NetApp are also using a similar strategy, according to the report.

Providers will access ordering processes, technology reference architectures, simplified pricing and value incentive program rebates, market development funds for developing services practices and go-to-market support, the report said.
