Science Applications International Corp. announced Monday six initial appointments to the executive leadership team of its planned government technical services and enterprise information technology spinoff.
As part of that announcement, the company announced the identity of that company’s chief executive and who will lead the other science-and-technology business (click over to GovCon Wire to find out those identities).
Tom Baybrook, currently acting president of SAIC’s defense solutions group, will serve as chief of administration and operations and have responsibility for operations and performance efforts, corporate business management and enterprise service functions.
John Hartley, currently senior vice president and SAIC’s corporate controller since 2005, will serve as CFO at the IT and services business.
Hartley, also the principal accounting officer, is responsible for Securities and Exchange Commission reporting, technical accounting, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, tax and financial planning and analysis, accounting and government compliance.
He joined the company in 2001 after a 12-year career with Deloitte, where he focused on the aerospace and defense industry.
Deborah Lee James, currently executive VP for communications and government affairs, will serve as sector president of the new company’s technical services sector.
She formerly served as a business unit general manager within SAIC’s defense solutions group, where she focused on aviation and Navy C4 programs (command, control, computers, communications).
According to SAIC, her 25 years of national security sector experience includes five years as assistant defense secretary for reserve affairs.
Nazzic Turner, a 26-year professional services industry veteran, will serve as president of the enterprise IT sector.
SAIC said Turner, who recently joined the company from CGI, brings experience in growing and operating professional services practices and delivering applications, products and systems integration services to public sector and commercial customers.
Edward “Sandy” Sanderson, a SAIC board member since 2002 and veteran of companies including Unisys, Oracle, Accenture, will serve as non-executive board chairman.
The company also announced Joe Craver, current group president, will serve as a sector president in the science-and-technology business and lead the health, engineering and commerce portions.
