SAP’s Veterans to Work is an employment and certification program for veterans in the database, technology, analytics, and enterprise mobility field which will provide 1,000 veterans scholarships over the next 12 months.
“Our goal is not to find one-time jobs for veterans,” said Steve Lucas, SAP executive vice president of database & technology. “We believe it is critical to provide deserving and qualified veterans the powerful technical tools they need to jump start a lifelong career in highly in-demand, innovative fields with significant potential for growth.”

Following the SAP training and certification program, the company said it will help connect veterans with customers and partners in the IT industry.
Under the SAP program, 1,000 veterans in California, Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia get one year full scholarship. The first batch of veterans will start their class in Texas this week.
According to government figures, joblessness rates for post-Sept. 11 veterans is 9.7 percent and 19.9 percent of female veterans within that group are out of work.
