Thales Opens Tech Center for Mobility & Cyber Research; Paul Kahn Comments

Thales has opened its first research and technology center in North America for the creation and transfer of advanced technologies, according to a UPI.com story.

“Thales has grown its research business in Quebec City over the past decade to become the major defense and security technology company in this region and this success and the richness of the Quebec City R&D community is being recognized by Thales Group with the creation of Thales Research and Technology Canada,” said Paul Kahn, president and CEO of Thales Canada.

Thales Research and Technology Canada is located in Quebec City.

The center’s operations include:

·         research for cybersecurity
·         information fusion with smart networks and sensors
·         cognitive engineering
·         social network analysis
·         optimization of algorithms
·         mobile platforming
·         modeling and simulation

Formerly a Thales Canada research and development facility, the center will be used to foster the collaboration of academia in industry-driven projects.

Thales Canada is a subsidiary of the Thales Group, which has its headquarters in France.
