John Ballock leads the Defense Department storage and software business at Oracle.
The 30-year IT systems vet joined the company as senior manager in 2003 to lead the DOD consulting practice and has supported a number of DoD enterprise resource planning implementations.
In 2008 he was promoted to vice president and was leveraged to assist programs that were not meeting DOD objectives. He has received extensive training in Oracle solutions and has worked with Oracle development to create new products and enhance existing offerings.
Prior to joining Oracle, he worked with several commercial corporations and large systems integrators. While at PwC, he developed consulting and software implementation skills. He was promoted through the various consulting levels and became a partner at CSC.
Through these varied assignments, he learned best practices of software implementations and applied them to the DoD arena. His enterprise software experience includes applications, middleware, and database.
He is published on a variety of IT topics and business issues in publications including Washington Business Journal, The Washington Journal, Tampa Bay Magazine, Reseller Management Magazine and Inform Magazine.
He graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. in Business Administration and the University of Maryland with a M.S. in Technology Management. He is married with two children and lives in Bethesda, Maryland.
