Intelsat US Planning Fairfax HQ Move for 2014

Intelsat is planning to relocate its U.S. headquarters from Washington to Northern Virginia in 2014, WTOP reports.

The company plans to lease about 188,000 square feet of office space in Tysons Tower, a 20-story office building in Fairfax County.

Gov. Bob McDonnell said at a news conference Monday that 430 employees will relocate to Virginia, according to the report.

McDonnell approved a $1.3 million grant from the Governor’s Opportunity Fund for the project, the station reported.

Bechtel is also moving some of its business to Northern Virginia, relocating its government services business to a location near Reston Town Center and Dulles International Airport.
