Accenture Helping Utility Run Asset Analytics System; Brian Martin Comments

accenture_ExecutiveBizAccenture is providing an asset analytics system to a Canada-based utility for managing capital and maintenance spending, the company said Monday.

Hydro One Networks Inc. will use the system to model statistics and forecast investment scenarios in an attempt to anticipate grid performance.

Brian Martin, a managing director in Accenture’s utility group, said the company is aiming to help Hydro One make investment decisions with the system.

The company is basing the system on an SAP BusinessObjects business intelligence software platform and Space-Time Awareness Server from Space-Time Insight, a data processing software program.

“Our ratepayers expect us to get the most out of our assets and Accenture is helping us do exactly that,” said Rick Stevens, vice president of asset management at Hydro One Networks. “We chose Accenture because they have significant experience with Hydro One’s business processes and IT systems, as well as SAP, enterprise asset management and ERP solutions.
