CenturyLink will build a new technology center for employees and vendors to collaborate on product and service development for network and information technology.
The company said the new 250,000-square foot center contain labs for research and development work, a network operations center and office and meeting space.
CenturyLink said it wants to break ground on the center in early 2013, complete construction by the end of 2014 and have the center operational in early 2015.
“The Technology Center of Excellence will help support our objective of bringing high-quality jobs to Monroe,” said Glen Post, CEO and president.
Post said the company is aiming to encourage innovation, new ideas and problem solving through the new center.
The will be located on the north side of CenturyLink’s Monroe, La. headquarters.
Yates Construction will manage the project and provide CenturyLink an on-site construction executive in Monroe to manage the project’s contracting team.
CenturyLink intends for the new center to meet Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Silver certification requirements.
