Grant Thornton has appointed Vince Tomkinson office managing partner of its Chicago practice, moving him from the same position at the firm’s Detroit practice.
The firm said the move is effective Aug. 1, with Tomkinson succeeding Mike Hall and Hall continuing to serve as Midwest region managing partner.
“Vince played a key role in the growth of Grant Thornton’s Southfield office during his tenure as managing partner,” said Hall, who has led the Chicago practice since 1998.
Tomkinson has held audit partner positions with publicly-traded and private clients during his 25 year accounting and business consulting career.
He has worked with clients in the U.S., Europe and Asia and provided clients support for complying with Securities and Exchange Commission requirements, transactions, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures and structured financing.
The certified public accountant is also a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants and serves as treasurer of food rescue program Forgotten Harvest.
