HP To Run Utility’s SAP ERP Platform; Howard Hughes Comments

HP - ExecutiveBizHewlett-Packard has won a four-year contract from a Spain-based energy company to manage the utility’s SAP-based information technology environment, HP said Thursday.

Madrilena Red de Gas uses SAP’s enterprise resource planning application for customer service and viewing service levels.

“Industries as complex as oil and gas need robust enterprise resource planning systems to facilitate key business functions while enabling business growth,” said Howard Hughes, senior vice president and general manager for HP’s enterprise services in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

“We have the responsibility to meet the gas supply needs of our customers while maintaining quality, safety, sustainability and environmental protection,” said Glen Lancastle, chief information officer for Madrilena Red de Gas.

HP will provide the utility enterprise applications services, assume responsibility for maintaining implementation of the SAP ERP application, manage applications and be responsible for upgrades.
