IBM Providing University IT Systems for Cloud-Based Platform; Nguyen Kim Hoa Comments
The University of Information Technology, a member of Vietnam’s national university system, is using IBM’s Smarter Computing platform to develop training courses and online applications in the cloud environment.
This Smarter Computing platform is based on IBM’s PureSystems platform, the company said.
“With this project we hope to make it easier for UIT to continually adapt programs and teaching methods preparing today’s students for tomorrow’s careers,” said Nguyen Kim Hoa, country manager of IBM Vietnam’s systems and technology group.
“To stay ahead of curve, it is critical for students and lecturers to have constant access to the university’s training resources,” said Duong Anh Duc, university rector. “We want to develop a ‘virtual campus’ that can be tailored to the needs of our expanding academic community.”
IBM is also partnering with the university on IT education fields and providing PureSystems for scientific projects in IT systems, computer science, computer engineering, software engineering and network communications.
