Talon Veteran Services Inc. has won a task order to help renovate a Department of Veterans Affairs medical center in Richmond, Va. and plans to hire other veteran-owned companies as subcontractors on the award.
Company president David Nelson Finch told ExecutiveBiz that the Richmond-based contractor won the task order through its position on a five-year indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.
In addition to construction services under the VA IDIQ, Talon has contracts regarding bulk fuel management and aircraft refueling for the Air Force and fuel management services and generator backup services for the VA.
Talon also conducts environmental services and occupational disability and medical management services.
“Contract stability is very important to Talon,” Finch said, adding that Talon’s primary federal clients include the VA, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Defense Logistics Agency-Energy, and Department of Defense and EPA.
Finch, a retired Army officer, founded the company in 2009 with Vice President Ed Bowman and said the company actively seeks to promote the work and business of other veterans and veteran-owned businesses as subcontractors.
