URS Corp.’s federal services unit has signed an agreement with a Maryland-based public university, where employees and their families can take classes or enroll in degree and certificate programs.
Employees, spouses and dependents can take individual courses or enroll in any of 95 academic programs at the University of Maryland-University College and many programs are available fully online, UMUC said.
“URS Federal Services is extremely pleased to participate in the education alliance with UMUC and proud to have the opportunity to support our employees and their family members through this program,” said Randy Wotring, president of federal services.
“For 65 years, UMUC has focused on serving adult students by providing workforce-relevant coursework via modes of delivery that fit their busy lives,” said Marie Cini, acting provost at UMUC. “We are pleased and proud to continue that tradition through this agreement with URS Federal Services.”
The university said undergraduate students may transfer credits and be awarded credit for prior learning if eligible.
UMUC said program participants not currently eligible for in-tuition rates can obtain a discount on out-of-state rates.
