Matt Gentile, head of Deloitte‘s geospatial practice and principal for Deloitte Financial Advisory Services has been appointed to a committee charged with making recommendations on federal geospatial policy and management issues.
The 13-member National Geospatial Advisory Committee will also be responsible for providing the government advice on developing the the National Spatial Data Infrastructure, Deloitte said Tuesday.
Gentile joined Deloitte in 2010 upon that firm’s acquisition of Traverse Technologies, a geospatial analytics firm he co-founded in 2003.
“Matt recognizes the integral role the NSDI can and must play for those in all walks of life – from farmers to first responders – and he is eager to collaborate with the many distinguished participants on the council,” said Robin Lineberger, CEO of Deloitte Federal Government Services.
Gentile started his career in the White House Office on Environmental Policy in the mid-1990s, where he helped form policies on environmental science.
