Shiv Krishnan serves as chairman and CEO of INDUS Corp., a company he founded in 1993 following 12 years of information technology consulting experience in the public sector and at Fortune 500 companies.
In the past 19 years, under Krishnan’s leadership, INDUS has become a mid-tier federal technology firm delivering leading-edge technology solutions to government customers in defense, intelligence, civilian, and homeland security markets.
Inc. 500, Deloitte-Touche, the Virginia Chamber of Commerce and Washington Technology have previously named INDUS among the fastest growing companies in the Washington area and in the U.S.
Krishnan has previously held management and engineering positions at AMS and Versar Inc. He is a founding board member and immediate-past chairman of the small and emerging contractors advisory forum.
SmartCEO magazine selected Krishnan to its list of “one of the 20 people we admire in Washington Business,” citing his mentoring activities, and to its “Smart 100 CEO” list every year from 2009 to-date.
Krishnan is a recipient of the 2002 SBA Small Business Person of the Year and 1999 VRSDC Entrepreneur of the Year awards, as well as a three-time finalist for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year award. MBPN has named Krishnan among the “Fifty Most Influential Minorities in Business.”
Krishnan gives much back to the community and currently serves on the University of Virginia’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies Board of Advisors, the Wolf Trap Foundation’s Board of Directors and the Tower Club’s Board of Governors.
He is a former member of George Mason University Foundation’s Board of Trustees and George Mason University’s School of Management Board of Advisors. Krishnan has also served on the Board and as President of the Association for Corporate Growth.
He holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Potsdam, N.Y.-based Clarkson University and completed executive business management programs at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
