Siemens Unveils New Data Center Management Offering; John Kovach Comments

SiemensLogoSiemens has launched a new data center infrastructure management (DCIM) offering meant to bridge the gap between IT and facility management, according to a company statement.

The product, Datacenter Clarity, is Siemen’s first product in the DCIM space and offers optimized functions and decision making skills to combine IT and facility management into one solution.

To achieve this, Siemens combined enterprise integration and management capabilities with data center-specific software based on its product lifecycle management (PLM) software.

John Kovach, Siemens’ new global head of data centers, said the company have the unique competency to combine all technologies and services important for data centers in one usable and scalable platform.

The PLM software is used throughout the world for missions such as NASA’s Mars Rover Curiosity.

According to the release, datacenter clarity provides asset visualization in HD4D, real-time monitoring, alarm and event notification, capacity planning, scalable and multi-site support platform, and mobility management applications.
