CGI to Establish State Health Exchange for Individuals, Small Businesses; Gregg Mossburg Comments

CGI_logoCGI Group Inc. has been selected to establish a health benefit exchange for the state of Vermont in an effort to to allow individuals and small businesses to navigate and obtain private health insurance plans.

The company will provide the technology infrastructure for Vermont Health Connect, which will determine eligibility for enrollment in public health insurance plans and access to federal tax credits, the company said..

The collaboration between CGI and Vermont will leverage existing technology products and structures in addition to the company’s new infrastructure.

“We are excited to partner with Vermont to build its health insurance marketplace and improve the health benefit selection experience for its citizens,” said Gregg Mossburg, a CGI senior vice president.

According to Robin Lunge, the Director of Health Care Reform, CGI is currently working to build the federal exchange as well as the exchanges in Hawaii, Colorado, and Massachusetts.

CGI said the system and infrastructure will complement the state’s premium billing process and a a customer support center.
