Charles Onstott serves as a vice president at Science Applications International Corp. where he is the chief technology officer for SAIC’s enterprise and mission information technology business unit.
He is responsible for a $1.2 billion IT services business unit with specialization in formulating technology strategy, business development, program management, managing information technology organizations and improving IT infrastructure operations.
In his previous role, Onstott was CTO for SAIC’s homeland and civilian solutions business unit where he established technical strategy, managed technology investments and advocated the use of new technologies across the customer base.
Onstott has been a contributor to SAIC’s cloud computing and mobile strategy for the past three years. In this capacity, he has had oversight for key investments in cloud computing and mobile technology solution and capability development.
In 2008, he was awarded SAIC’s Information Technology and Network Solutions Group Excellence Award for Science and Technology.
Onstott has performed research and engineering for enterprise end-user computing and data center technologies since 1999. He was the principal architect for SAIC’s integrated service management center, a key capability for SAIC’s IT outsourcing practice.
He has developed IT infrastructure solutions that support more than 400,000 users worldwide in the federal, defense, energy, biotech and entertainment sectors.
He holds a B.A. from Oklahoma State University and an M.A. from The University of Chicago.
