Sandy Chu has been appointed to spearhead Grant Thornton’s recently launched New York-based China Business Group, the Compliance Week reports.
CBG caters to U.S.-based clients with Chinese activities and operations, and offers services such as market entry solutions, restructuring, business advisory, China tax planning, merger & acquisition assistance, transfer pricing, expatriate planning, project management and global audit coordination.
In addition, CBG aims to grow Chinese-based companies with investment into the U.S.
In this role, Chu will lead a team of specialized subject matter experts from China and U.S. secondees to China, who are adept of the country’s regulations, business and practice.
Chu possesses 20 years of technical and practical experience advising multinational clients on numerous China tax and business issues.
She previously served at Ernst & Young, where she led the Greater China Desk advising companies on business related issues across mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan & Macao.
Chu was also a former senior manager at PwC’s China Tax and Business Advisory Services.
