Treasury Secretary Jack Lew visited a Siemens manufacturing plant near Atlanta Thursday, touring a facility where 700 workers manufacture rail and mining traction drives.
Lew toured the Alpharetta, Ga.-based SGA 400 facility and also met with regional business owners as part of his visit to the area, the Treasury said Thursday.
Secretary also met with leaders of Atlanta-area business leaders, foundations and educational institutions met with Lew to discuss economic priorities and challenges they face, according to the Treasury.
This was Lew’s first trip since taking office in February.
Siemens’ Alpharetta plant also produces drives for the water, wastewater, paper and metals industries and works on Atlanta’s streetcar project.
