SteelCloud Software Aimed To Help Pentagon Blackberry Upgrade; Brian Hajost Comments

steelcloud_logoHerndon, Va.-based SteelCloud has released a new virtualization software aimed at helping the U.S. Defense Department transition to the new Blackberry operating system.

SteelCloud’s MobileWorks for BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 is a VMware appliance intended to comply with Defense Information Systems Agency requirements for secure computer systems, SteelCloud said Tuesday.

“SteelCloud brings years of experience with BlackBerry and the STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides) to the newest BES platform,” said Brian Hajost, SteelCloud president and chief executive.

Hajost added the virtual product is intended to help customers establish a production environment.

MobileWorks for BES 10 features a Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2, BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 and VeriScan infrastructure validation and support software.

The appliance is intended for STIG-ready environments using Windows, SQL and the .Net Framework and designed to deploy within one hour.
