Georgens served as NetApp’s chief operating officer and executive vice president for enterprise storage systems and product operations before being promoted to chief executive and president in August 2009, Autodesk said Monday.
He joined NetApp’s board in March 2008.
“Tom brings a wealth of experience and perspective in working with established technology companies,” said Carl Bass, Autodesk president and CEO.
Georgens previously held engineering and marketing roles at EMC Corp., where he worked for 11 years.
He then joined LSI Corp. and its Engenio and LSI Logic subsidiaries in different capacities, including as CEO of Engenio and EVP of LSI Logic.
