Raytheon will continue to serve as title sponsor of a mathematics competition intended to promote careers in the science, engineering, technology and math fields to students.
The company extended its sponsorship of the Mathcounts National Competition to 2018 and the competition is open to students in all 50 states and U.S. territories, Raytheon said Monday.
Mathcounts is a national middle school coaching and competitive mathematics program that is also open to Defense and State Department schools.
Raytheon also launched a new infographic entitled “The 21st Century Workforce: Skills Gap and the STEM Dilemma” as part of its initiative to encourage students to pursue STEM careers.
That infographic aims to show students how STEM fields factor into their everyday lives and future careers.
Raytheon will also release a “Math Mysteries” web video series to support Mathematics Awareness Month.
