VMware has forged a partnership with a cloud computing association to develop training and certification programs intended to help organizations transition to a cloud environment.
The Cloud Credentialing Council works with members and partners to identify the skills required in cloud computing and develop courses and exams designed to hone talents for the technology, the CCC said Monday.
Later this year, the CCC will release five professional level cloud certifications such as the CCC Professional Cloud Developer, Solutions Architect, Administrator, Service Manager and Security/Governance certifications.
“Various VMware cloud experts have contributed to the development of the CCC syllabi in a collaborative way with cloud experts from other organizations, and we believe this joint effort will accelerate the overall industry adoption of cloud,” said Michael Yakiemchuk, director for education and training at VMware.
“Although the CCC certifications are vendor-neutral, they are complementary to vendor certifications,” said Marcel Heilijgers, executive director of the Cloud Credential Council.
“We always recommend candidates to choose a vendor-specific follow-on course/certification,” Heilijgers added.
