The Navy League of the U.S has appointed Bruce Butler, former head of the Navy’s Office for Business Transformation and Process Improvement and CACI International policy analyst, as its national executive director.
Effective May 1, Butler will replace retired Navy Capt. Dale Lumme who held the post since 2010 and has assumed the executive vice president post at Decision Lens, the Navy League said Wednesday.
Butler will oversee more than 45,900 staff with a goal of boosting the morale of service personnel and their families, raising awareness about the importance of maritime services and managing programs such as the Naval Sea Cadet Corps, Junior ROTC and Young Marines for the youth.
A retired Navy captain, Butler brings 29 years of background in leadership and management, having previously served as the Defense, Naval, and Coast Guard Attaché to the Republic of Argentina.
Butler has been a member of the Navy League National Capital Council’s Board of Directors for the past three years.
He served as a corporate executive for international strategy and capture management for the past four years.
