Former Central Intelligence Agency Director David Petraeus has been named chairman of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co.‘s newly created business unit for the investment implications of new and emerging markets.
As KKR Global Institute’s chairman, Petraeus will lead a team that will expand KKR’s international portfolio and publish the company’s leadership products, KKR said today.
Henry Kravis, KKR co-CEO and co-founder, said Petraeus will help the company “understand the investment implications of public policy, macro-economic, regulatory and technology trends globally.”
Petraeus will team with Ken Mehlman, global head of public affairs, and Henry McVey, global head of macro & asset allocation.
Since leaving the CIA in 2012, Petraeus has served on the American Corporate Partners’ advisory council and as a member of the University of Southern California faculty.
