Sebastien Remy, founder of Airbus’ alternative fuels advisory group, has been appointed to lead the innovation works office for Airbus parent company EADS starting June 1.
He will manage more than 800 workers based at international research centers and will report to Chief Technical Officer Jean Botti, EADS said Tuesday.
“Sebastien’s key mission will be to foster and continue the strong innovation culture we have within EADS,” Botti said.
At Airbus, Remy led research programs and launched activities that were part of the first A380 flight that used alternative fuel in 2008.
Remy was appointed in 2009 as chief of Airbus’ engineering center of competence in 2009 to collaborate with teams from several German cities.
He began his career at MBDA Group in 1994, where he worked on missile flight tests.
