The Department of Veterans Affairs has won an award from Microsoft for innovating technology in the public sector, specifically for managing cases and coordinating care for service members and veterans.
The VA received Microsoft’s 2013 Industry Excellence in the Public Sector award during the Microsoft Dynamics Convergence ceremony in March, CACI International said Tuesday.
John Mengucci, CACI chief operating officer, said CACI and Green Beacon Solutions helped the VA design and deliver a Microsoft Dynamics CRM platform intended to integrate with other agencies’ data and legacy VA applications for coordinating care.
Mengucci added the companies aimed to help create a turnkey product that automates processes, creates and maintains individual case records and facilitates communication between VA coordinators.
Service members and veterans access also view a recovery plan through the eBenefits website under the platform, CACI says.
