CSC to Deploy Medication Mgmt Platform for NZ Health System

CSC_Logo_square CSC has won a five-year contract to provide an in-hospital prescribing and administration system to 20 district health boards in New Zealand that seeks to help avoid medication errors.

The company will deploy its MedChart across the country as the New Zealand Ministry of Health seeks to help hospitals update their electronic medication management systems, CSC said Wednesday.

According to CSC, Sydney’s St. Vincent’s Public Hospital reduced prescription errors by 57 percent and medication errors by 44 percent through MedChart.

Incomplete and unclear orders were eliminated as well, the company said.

CSC has also received $2.6 million to implement its ePharmacy product in New Zealand’s Midland region across six district health boards.
