Deloitte_ExecutiveBizDeloitte has partnered with Intermountain Healthcare to launch an analytics tool for medical researchers and life sciences companies to gain insights on effectiveness of different treatments.

OutcomesMiner aims to help scientists mine electronic health records and analyze patient outcomes related to drug therapy, Deloitte said Monday.

“The life sciences and health care industry is entering a new era in which success is tied to demonstrating value for reimbursement with an increased focus on safety and clinical effectiveness,” said Brett Davis, the recently appointed general manager of Deloitte’s health informatics business.

Deloitte and Intermountain seek to help fpharmaceutical companies acquire medical evidence, facilitate health economic and observational studies, as well as plan and commercialize products.

Deloitte says the approach can assist healthcare providers in choosing the best treatment option for patients.

“OutcomesMiner can help our clients thrive under this new paradigm by providing the insights they need based on rigorous  real-world evidence,” Davis added.
