SafeNet Partners with Arrow Electronics to Offer Cloud and Storage Security; Mike Nowlan Comments

safenetSafeNet Inc. and Arrow Electronics Inc. have teamed up to continue offering products intended to help secure storage and cloud infrastructures.

The companies have expanded their distribution agreement in North America where Arrow will sell SafeNet’s ProtectV encryption product for virtualized environments and StorageSecure for network attached storage, SafeNet said Tuesday.

The products are intended to help protect cloud and storage offerings with no impact on current infrastructures.

Mike Nowlan, vice president of North American security, virtualization and networking at Arrow, said the integration would help customers break down complex distribution of products and bolster data protection capabilities.

ProtectV works with VMware’s vShield and vCenter as well as Amazon Web Services to enable organizations to transition to virtualized environments while keeping existing data, SafeNet said.

Additionally, StorageSecure helps protect information by connecting to 1 Gigabyte or 10 Gb of Ethernet networks without affecting current storage environments and operations, the company added.
