General Dynamics Secures U.K. Cloud-Based Procurement Framework Contract; Stephen Meyler Comments

general dynamics logoA General Dynamics business unit has become a U.K. cloud services supplier under a framework agreement intended to help the public sector acquire information and communication technology offerings.

Under the Government Procurement Service G-Cloud framework, General Dynamics Information Technology will develop and integrate Microsoft’s Dynamics CRM, supply email services, secure cyber infrastructures and provide learning to the U.K.’s public sector organizations, General Dynamics said Thursday.

Stephen Meyler, managing director of GDIT’s U.K. division, said the government aims for the framework to transition half of its public-sector IT spending to public cloud environments by 2015.

“General Dynamics’ inclusion in the framework will provide public-sector buyers with a procurement vehicle for proven cloud services,” added Meyler.

General Dynamics Information Technology provides and integrates IT services for central and local governments as well as the healthcare sector.
