Tony Smeraglinolo, president and CEO of government services provider Engility, recently saw his company be selected to provide business and force support services to the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center under a potential $900 million program.
Engility is one of 15 companies that won positions on that contract and Smeraglinolo said his company has won prime position on SPAWAR’s first four unrestricted pillar contracts.
The multiple-award IDIQ contract is worth $180 million in base funds through May 2014.
Science Applications International Corp. is one of the other 15 companies that won a position on that program and SAIC will compete to provide electronics and communications services for the contract’s decision superiority portion.
Decision superiority services focus on updating systems and applications the U.S. Navy uses to make decisions.
Tom Watson, SAIC customer group senior vice president, said the company brings knowledge of life cycle support on research and development activities regarding C5ISR to the program.
Ken Asbury, president and CEO of CACI, saw his company win a position on a potential $899 million contract with the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic for engineering support.
CACI will provide systems engineering support to SSC Atlantic and also seek to help the center update infrastructure for C4ISR missions (command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance).
Asbury said the company focuses on large vehicles such as these to carry out its growth strategy.
