Harris to Update Veteran Benefits Database; Vishal Agrawal Comments

Harris logo_EBizHarris Corp. has won a four-year $37 million contract to help design and implement a new data warehouse for the Veterans Benefits Administration to process service members’ benefits and claims.

The company will provide database maintenance, infrastructure support and other technical services to the agency’s Office of Performance Analysis and Integrity, Harris said Tuesday.

“The accuracy and effectiveness of the Enterprise Data Warehouse is essential for improving the claims process at a time when there are a large number of veterans applying for benefits,” said Dr. Vishal Agrawal, Harris healthcare solutions president.

VBA uses warehouse data to generate business intelligence reports for managers and business teams across 57 regional offices.

The agency also uses the data to perform financial audits, identify fraud and develop reports to Congress.
