MarkLogic Provides New National Archives Website with IT Offerings; Kevin Shelly Comments

Kevin ShellyMarkLogic Corp. has helped the National Archives and the University of Virginia Press launch their new Founders Online website which gives access to the papers of six American founders.

The website utilizes MarkLogic’s flexible document storage, built-in search engine and web services, according to a company statement.

“MarkLogic has built content systems that can manage billions of data points and automatically filter according to organizational needs,” said Kevin Shelly, public sector vice president at MarkLogic.

The free online tool combines papers from George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson.

The website intends to make 175,000 documents available over the next three years.

There are also 55,000 previously unpublished documents that the website intends to feature.
