Northrop Delivers Open-Architecture Kit for Defense Software Developers; Pat Antkowiak Comments

northrop grumman logoNorthrop Grumman has developed an open-architecture software development kit for defense product and services providers.

The product was a result of collaboration among technology businesses under the global security company’s Air and Missile Defense Radar program, Northrop said Wednesday.

The SDK will provide qualified companies with the tools, documentation and programming environment needed to work on the AMDR and other Northrop scalable node architecture programs.

“Our commitment to openness is foundational and comprehensive,” said Pat Antkowiak, vice president and general manager of Northrop Grumman’s advanced concepts and technologies division.

“Advancing resources to highly capable firms strengthens this foundation and increases collaboration opportunities beyond Northrop Grumman,” he added.

Northrop said both the SDK and SNA were assembled using Linux-integrated commercial and open source products and tools.
