Northrop Grumman has won the “Private Sector Employer of the Year” award from CAREERS & the disABLED magazine for its efforts to recruit and hire people with disabilities.
Readers also voted Northrop as one of employers they would most like to work at or believe has progressive hiring practices, Northrop said Thursday.
“We are dedicated to fostering a work environment that values diversity and inclusion because it creates innovation, improves productivity and boosts profitability,” said Sandra Evers-Manly, Northrop’s vice president of global corporate responsibility and president of the Northrop Grumman Foundation.
“People with disabilities are an important component of a diverse pool of talent and we are determined to draw from this valuable resource,” she said.
The publication recognized Northrop for programs such as Operation IMPACT, which aims to help severely wounded military service members find job opportunities and transition to the private sector.
Northrop says it has recruited more than 100 military personnel and their family members through the program.
