TeleCommunication Systems has won a gold award from a technology research and advisory guide organization for the company’s geospatial emergency management service.
Network Products Guide named GEM9-1-1 a winner for the 2013 Hot Companies and Best Products Awards in the “IT Products and Services for Government” category, TCS said Monday.
“It is an honor to have our efforts recognized by an influential industry organization,” said Chris Nabinger, senior vice president of TCS’ safety and security group.
GEM-9-1-1 is a web-based service designed for people in noise-sensitive situations or those who are hearing impaired to communicate to a public safety answering point through text messages.
Firefighters, law enforcement and medical personnel receive the data included in the sender’s Smart911 profile, TCS says.
