Verizon Unveils BlackBerry 10 Enterprise App for Healthcare Clients; Mike Ross Comments

VerizonLogoVerizon has rolled out BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 for healthcare providers to use when accessing medical data and addressing patient privacy and security regulations.

The BES10 regulated offering works to protect data, minimize risks and simplify deployments through Verizon’s 4G LTE network, Verizon said June 10.

HIMSS Analytics says two-thirds of health information technology executives surveyed believe that mobile technology will affect care delivery in the future.

“Delivering secure patient data in today’s mobile environment is riddled with privacy and security concerns,” said Mike Ross, director of healthcare mobility solutions for Verizon’s enterprise solutions business.

BES10 includes data encryption, communication logging, hardware control and application management features.
