Erin Maneri Akred, an Accenture executive, has been chosen as a Presidential Innovation Fellow, a public-private program for job creation and IT innovation.
Akred, Accenture Technology Labs manager for the Digital Health R&D group, is one of 43 individuals from the private sector chosen for the fellowship program, Accenture said Tuesday.
Akred will participate in a six-month program with the Department of Agriculture to expedite the government’s plans to make government information more accessible to the public.
Established in 2012, this year’s Presidential Innovation Fellow program consists of six new projects and four projects from the previous year.
Akred manages a team in Accenture that builds “analytical capabilities and visual decision support systems used in healthcare and smart grid applications.”
