Jonathan Fairtlough, a veteran anti-cybercrime prosecutor from Los Angeles County, Calif., has joined Kroll as managing director of its cyber investigations division.
He will work out of the company’s Los Angeles office and focus on assignments concerning digital forensics and data breach protection and security, Kroll said Monday.
Fairtlough investigated and tried cybercrime cases as a member of the L.A. County district attorney’s office’s high tech crime division and most recently served as deputy in charge of the Eastlake Juvenile Office.
In 2006, he received International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators commendation for his lead role in the prosecution of a high-profile case that involved identity theft.
Fairtlough holds degrees from Loyola Law School and Loyola Marymount University, and teaches forensics and cyber law at Cypress College and the National Computer Forensic Institute.
