Dominique Giannoni, a Thales Group executive since 2003, has assumed the chief executive officer role of the company’s in-flight entertainment and connectivity unit in California.
The 44-year-old former head of underwater systems and military avionics will lead IFEC as it shifts focus on expanding operations and improving offerings to international carriers, Thales said Tuesday.
“I am delighted to be taking on this next challenge in such an exciting market,” Giannoni said of his appointment.
He added that one of IFEC’s goals is to provide cost-effective and innovative solutions that meet the operational needs of business partners and customers.
Alan Pellegrini, Thales USA president and CEO, said Giannoni will work to apply his industry background and leadership experience to coordinate IFEC’s undertakings with the company’s U.S. office.
“I look forward to working together with him,” Pellegrini added.
Giannoni studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, ENSTA ParisTech and INSEAD, and has a career portfolio that includes management roles within the French Defense Ministry as well as telecommunications and media organizations.
